The Freedom to Be Yourself | What if you no longer needed everyone to like you?✨

There is another layer of these post 8/8 and Eclipse integration energies that has been revealing itself to me over the past few days, and it feels like a very natural continuation of everything I've been sharing with you.
I've been reflecting on self-trust, discernment and what it really means to remember who we are. And I'm beginning to see that perhaps self-trust isn't only about learning to hear our inner knowing and perhaps the deeper invitation is learning to trust ourselves enough to honour what we hear, even when it doesn't align with someone else's expectations of us!
I've also been noticing how often I can unconsciously shape myself around the desire to be liked, accepted, included or approved of, to say the right thing, be the right kind of person, stay in the conversation a little longer, say yes when I really want to say no, or replay something I've said because I'm worried someone might have thought I was silly, awkward or somehow not enough. And underneath all of that, I've begun to see a much deeper question….Do I actually want to be in this room? Do I actually want to be in this relationship? Do I actually want to give my energy here?
So this had me feeling what if rather than continually asking ourselves, "How do I make myself belong?”, what if we began asking, "Where do I belong as myself?"
This feels especially connected to a phrase that has been coming through for me for a long time now that is ‘I am free to be myself.’ I think I'm beginning to understand what that freedom actually asks of us. It isn't necessarily freedom when everyone likes us, understands us or approves of our choices. It is the freedom to remain ourselves even when someone might be disappointed, misunderstand us, judge us or simply not choose us.
We can love someone and still say no. We can care deeply and still have boundaries. We can be open without being available to everyone. We can discern without needing to make another person wrong. And perhaps most importantly, we don't have to earn belonging by abandoning ourselves.
We don't have to make ourselves smaller, more agreeable, more impressive, more sociable or more acceptable in order to deserve connection. We can arrive as we are and allow resonance to reveal itself.
I've realised that this is also why clarity has been such a strong theme for me in this season, becuase clarity isn't always an answer. Sometimes clarity is simply a clear enough inner field to hear ourselves beneath the noise of expectation, fear and the stories we have created about what we ‘should’ do.
And then comes the next layer, the freedom to honour what we hear. Which could be a yes, no, maybe, or not right now.
We don't have to justify every choice or make sure everyone feels good about it.
I can listen to my body, my heart, my intuition and my own knowing, and allow that information to matter. That doesn't mean every feeling is an instruction or that I never need to reconsider. It means I stop abandoning myself in the process of figuring it out. And perhaps this is another part of what it means to be the key.
The key isn't simply knowing what is within us. The key is being willing to live from it. And I wonder if this is part of the deeper movement many of us may be experiencing now. A quiet remembering of who we are underneath all the ways we've learned to perform, please, prove, adapt and belong.
So, perhaps the question isn't ‘Who do I need to become so that I am accepted?’
Perhaps it is ‘Who am I when I no longer need to be accepted by everyone?’
For me, the answer feels like freedom. The freedom to be myself, the freedom to choose where my energy goes, the freedom to honour my own needs alongside the needs of others, the freedom to let someone else have their feelings without making those feelings my responsibility, the freedom to belong without disappearing and perhaps the deepest freedom of all I don't have to make myself belong everywhere. I can simply become more fully myself and allow myself to discover where I belong.
So perhaps, as we continue moving the eclipse corridor energies, this is something you might gently sit with….Where am I still changing myself in order to be liked, accepted or approved of?
And perhaps even more gently…What would become possible if I trusted myself enough to simply be me?
You don't have to answer immediately, just notice, listen, feel and let the answer emerge from the living library within you.
Because you are not here to become someone else's idea of who you should be. You are here to remember who you are and become free enough to live as that. 🤍✨
With an abundance of love and gratitude,
Ali 🌹
